Augoustis Maroulis was born and brought up in Athens, where he stilllives. He studied Economics at the University of Athens and works as an economist in the public sector. He is married and has two children.
He has written poems and short stories. He won first prize for his poem 'Skantza varthia' in the 3rd Annual Literary Competition, organized by the Cultural Centre of Petroupolis, Athens 2007. He was also a finalist in the 5th National Poetry and Short Story Competition, organized by the Writers' Union of North Greece, 2006, for his poem 'The immigrant'.His first collection of poems 'Alargina Taxithia' was published in 2008. He has also written many lyrics, which became songs. His core themes are love, longing for home, the immigration blues and the daily struggles and triumphs of the Greek immigrant in particular.
